Google Drive (on the web) doesn’t natively support unzipping files.

The Google Workspace Marketplace is full of apps that add this feature, but many of these add-ons are from people and organisations with no track record - you can’t be sure what they’re doing with your files.

Earlier this year, we launched File Unzip by Kimbley IT. It unzips your files, but they never get uploaded; the whole process runs locally on your machine. Apart from you, no one can see the contents of the files you’re unzipping.

It was launched in July, and since then, it’s got over 1,000 installs!

If you’re looking for a solution that lets your team unzip files in Google Drive natively (built by an authorised Google Workspace partner) on the Google Workspace Marketplace simply search for “File Unzip by Kimbley IT” and install it. It’s free forever and completely 100% private.

There’s a complete privacy policy that you can read to see how it works.
